It’s been about four and a half years since Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock was cast as Black Adam, but it seems like the project is finally coming together based on some new story details which come from the latest draft.
As we all know, Black Adam was supposed to appear in Shazam! movie but plans changed and the character is now getting his own solo movie. That’s been in the works for what feels like since forever, but according to That Hashtag Show, Adam Szytkiel (who was hired back in 2017) recently handed in a new draft which is reportedly inspired by Geoff Johns’ early 2000s work.
It’s reported that Carter Hall, a.k.a. Hawkman, will have a role in the movie and he’ll be contesting with the titular anti-hero. Warner Bros. is currently looking for an actor in the 30 – 35 range who can convincingly take the fight to Jumanji Star, Dwayne Johnson.
Another report to amuse us. Justice Society of America characters Atom Smasher and Stargirl – who will soon appear in her own live-action DC Universe TV series – are also expected to appear. They’re a couple in the comic books, and the studio is eyeing actors in the 20 – 29 range to play the heroes.
With production on Black Adam not probable to begin until early 2020, it’s going to be quite some time until we see anything from this one but casting could easily begin during the second half of the year.
Well, we believe it’s a great feeling to finally get some Black Adam news and meet some familiar faces from the DC universe on our big screens.
